Paper mill rolling station for manufacture of multi-layered paper hygiene products has nip formed by marrying roll and steel embossing roll

A hygiene product paper mill has two parallel drums either in contact or separated by a defined variable gap under pressure. The gap forms a nip in which two or more paper webs are brought together. The resulting web is surrendered to a marrying roll which is adjacent to a second heated roll and bonds the webs at a temperature between 40 and 200[deg]C. The marrying roll operates in conjunction with an embossing roll. Either the marrying and/or steel embossing roller are heated. The paper webs incorporate a hotmelt adhesive which covers between 10 and 50 per cent of the web area. The adhesive is applied by a roller. Also claimed is a multi-layered paper hygiene product with a specific area density of 10 to 40 g/m2>.
