Agent for inducing antigen-specific immotolerance is a reaction product of a cytotoxic agent with a specific antigen. The agent is of use for rendering organisms tolerant to foreign antigens (esp. transplantation antigens) without weakening the overall immune defence (e.g. against infections). It is also of use for inducing immunotolerance to the causative antigens in auto-agression diseases. Suitable cytotoxic agents include alkylating agents, purine antagonists, pyrimidine derivs folic acid antagonists, alkaloids, antibiotics, corticosteroids and special antimitotics. These may be reacted with the specific antigens by generally known procedures.
|
