The aim of the invention is to provide a device (10) for producing and/or preparing a fuel for a fuel cell, which comprises a number of individual components and which requires little space and has a simple constructive design. To this end, the device (10) is configured as a sequence of individual layers (11, 12), comprising at least one first layer (11) for guiding therethrough a process medium that has at least partially a channel structure with at least one channel (16, 17), and at least one second layer (12) that has at least one component for treating the process medium flowing across the at least one first layer (11). The device (10) is further designed as a single microstructure component wherein all individual components are integrated into one single component.
