APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING MICROWAVE OVEN

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for controlling a microwave oven are provided to prevent the poor cooking by calculating a cooking time according to the kind of ingredients. CONSTITUTION: A body(1) is provided with a cooking room(2) and an electronic device room(3). A door(4) is coupled to the body(1) through a hinge to open and shut the cooking room(2). A control panel(5) is installed on a front of the body(1) and provided with an input unit having a plurality of manipulation buttons and a display unit for displaying information. A humidity sensor(6) detects a status of air in the cooking room(2). The electronic device room(3) is provided with a magnetron(3a), a cooling fan(3b), and an air guiding duct(3c). The magnetron(3a) generates a high frequency microwave. The cooling fan(3b) sucks air from outside to cool electronic devices. The air guiding duct(3c) guides the air to a suction opening(7a). The cooling fan(3b) is installed between a rear wall of the electronic device room(3) and the magnetron(3a). A plurality of air suction openings(3d) is formed on the rear wall of the electronic device room(3).
