FUSION PROTEIN HAVING ACTIVITY OF N-ACETYLGALACTOSAMINYLTRANSFERASE, GENE ENCODING THE SAME FUSION PROTEIN AND TRANSFORMED CELL LINE TRANSFECTED WITH THE SAME GENE

PURPOSE: A fusion protein having activity of N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase, its encoding gene encoding and a transformed cell line transfected by the gene are provided. The fusion protein or transformed cell line is useful for the production of a recombinant protein having the LacdiNAc-R structure. CONSTITUTION: A fusion protein having activity of N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase is prepared by fusion of alpha-lactalbumin and beta 1,4-galactosyltransferase-1, wherein the fusion protein has further lactosyltransferase activity and galactosyltransferase activity; the alpha-lactalbumin has the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2; the beta 1,4-galactosyltransferase-1 has the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 4; the fusion protein has the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 6 or SEQ ID NO: 7. Its encoding gene has the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 5. A transformed cell line(KCTC 10223BP) transfected by the fusion protein gene is provided. A process for preparing protein having the LacdiNAc-R structure comprises the steps of: (1) inserting a interest gene into the transformed cell line; (2) culturing the transformed cell line to mass-express protein encoded by the interest gene; and (3) isolating and purifying the expressed protein.
