PURPOSE: An apparatus for preventing freezing of an evaporator of an indirect cooling type refrigerator is provided to prevent burst of ice and bursting noise due thereto. CONSTITUTION: An upper end of an evaporator(3) is fixed on an inner case(2) by a fixing unit(10). An expanding concave part(11) is formed between the inner case and the evaporator to act as an air channel. The expanding concave part is formed to prevent the evaporator from contacting with the inner case. The expanding concave part is formed on the inner case to prevent the inner case from contacting with the whole of the evaporator including an inside area and an outside area while an existing inner case contacts with some of the outside area of the evaporator without contacting with the inside area of the evaporator. Protrusive part(5) is formed on sides of the expanding concave part to prevent insertion of the evaporator into the expanding concave part. Alternatively, the protrusive part is formed on a lower side of the expanding concave part, or on a bottom to be extended upward so as to support the evaporator.
