PURPOSE: A device and a method for debugging a processor are provided to move to a constant address of a program without using a complex software instruction after using the hardware reset on a debugging environment. CONSTITUTION: A selection flag setting part(1) sets and outputs a flag according to a sort of a reset signal generated by detecting a system reset signal and the software reset signal. An OR gate(OR1) performs an OR combination with the system reset and the software reset, and detects it. An AND gate(AND1) performs the AND combination of an output signal of the OR gate(OR1) and the selection flag setting part(1). A processor core(3) is controlled by receiving a break signal from a debug controller(2), is reset by the output signal of the OR gate(OR1), and outputs a control signal. The OR gate performs the OR combination by receiving the output signal of the AND gate(AND1) and the reset signal of the debug controller(2). A memory break controller(4) controls the operation of a memory(5) by receiving the output signal of the OR gate and the control signal of the processor core(3).
