The invention relates to an apparatus for the irradiation of body fluids, es pe- cially blood and/or tissue extracts, by ultraviolet light in a containment ( 4) for receiving the body fluids which is disposed in the radiation range of an ultraviolet light source (5). On the inside of this containment (4) there ar e pro- vided baffle means (6, 26, 36) arranged so as to subject the body fluids flowing through the containment or circulating therewithin in circumferential direction to turbulence thereby preventing a laminar flow within the body fluid. There by the body fluid in the containment is uniformly exposed to the UV radiation i n its entire volume. |
