PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clogging removal method for removing clogging without damaging the surface of a whetstone roll of a rice polisher. SOLUTION: The method for removing clogging of the whetstone roll installed in a rice polisher is carried out using rice grains as a shot material by hitting the shot material together with high pressure air against the surface of the whetstone roll, so that the surface of the whetstone roll is not damaged and moreover, since the shot material is rice grains, even if the material is mixed with a product, polished rice, the product is safe. Further, since rice grains are used as a shot material, the rice grains are pulverized by collision and impact to the surface of the whetstone roll and the pulverized particles come into collision against deep clogged parts to improve the cleaning effect. Further, owing to the repeated collision of the shot material against the surface of the whetstone roll, the particles of the pulverized rice grains generate heat and are heated and at the time when the particles come into collision against the rice bran in the clogged parts, the shot material is effective to assimilate and remove the rice bran by thermally fusing the rice bran.
