PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper discharging unit and a recording device having a structure of high stability in closing a paper discharging frame, and capable of opening the paper discharge frame without needing much power. SOLUTION: This paper discharging unit has a paper discharging frame 51 capable of being opened and closed to a main body frame, and energizing a driven roller 22 held at its one end, to a driving roller 21 through an energizing means, when it is closed, and the energizing force by the energizing means is released by a releasing means, when the paper discharging frame 51 is opened.
