<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate a selection process of an output device on an image processing terminal for a smooth printing process. <P>SOLUTION: A printing server controls a remaining amount of a consumable item in each IOT. When a printing job is set to automatic selection of an IOT, the printer server prints using an IOT selected based on the remaining amount of the consumable item (Step 170 to 174). When an IOT is specified by a client terminal, the printer server determines whether the printing process is acceptable or not based on the remaining amount of the consumable item in the IOT (Step 176 to 182). When the remaining amount is insufficient, the printer server selects an IOT capable of printing, and prints using the change IOT after being checked by the client terminal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
