PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an encryption communication system wherein encryption is hardly decoded and to provide a transmission apparatus, a receiving apparatus, and a multi-branching communication system. SOLUTION: An APON system comprises an OLT (Optical Line Termination) transmitter 101 for encrypting data and broadcasting the resulting data and a plurality of ONU (Optical Network Unit) transmitters 102 for receiving and decoding the encrypted data. An encryption section 129 of the OLT transmitter 101 respectively encrypts each range of divisions of transmitted data by using a plurality of encryption keys and a decoding section 132 of each ONU transmitter 102 respectively decodes each range of divisions of the received data by using a plurality of encryption keys. Through the configuration above, data can be encrypted by using a plurality of the encryption keys so as to hardly decode the encryption and enhance the security. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
