PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens diagnosing system which enables an operator to easily find diagnostic information to reduce the labor of repair and adjustment by setting a thumb ring of a zoom controller to a reference position and discriminating whether a control signal, a follow signal, etc., detected at this time have proper values or not and diagnosing whether abnormality of offset occurs or not and locating the abnormality in the case of occurrence of the abnormality. SOLUTION: A program of a FIND system for diagnosing a lens by a personal computer 16 realizes offset diagnosis. With respect to offset diagnosis of the zoom controller, the thumb ring is instructed to be centered, and thereafter, the control signal outputted from the zoom controller and the follow signal detected by a position detection sensor are read, and it is discriminated whether values of the signals are proper or not.
