PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve the problem that color reproducibility is low because a gray axis is expressed with mixture of a color ink and an India ink. SOLUTION: On the basis of cmy data being complementary color data of RGB data and k data constituted of minimum values of the cmy data, a variable rate indicating which of a chromatic color and an achromatic color the RGB data is close to is introduced. India ink color generation quantity bg and a chromatic color removal quantity ucr are calculated in accordance with an India ink color generation rate BG and a chromatic color removal rate UCR which are prescribed with nonlinear functions on the basis of the variable rate, and CMYK data is calculated from the India ink color generation quantity bg and the chromatic color removal quantity ucr, and a color conversion table prescribing the correspondence relation between the RGB data and the CMYK data is generated so that a color can be reproduced on the gray axis by a single color of K data and a color can be reproduced off the gray axis by color mixture of CMYK data, and the color reproducibility is improved.
