<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the start time of an imaging unit while preventing a degradation in image signal. <P>SOLUTION: A CCD image sensor 1 stores information electric charge generated in response to incident light, into each light receiving pixel. A boosting circuit 2 raises a supply voltage VD to generate raised voltages V<SB>0</SB>H and V<SB>0</SB>L in a period of oscillation of a boosting clock CKV. A vertical driver circuit 4 is operated on reception of the output V<SB>0</SB>L of the boosting circuit 2 and supplies a driving clock to the CCD image sensor 1. A timing control circuit 11 generates a vertical synchronization signal VD and a horizontal synchronization signal HD and generates the boosting clock CKV. The timing control circuit 11 continuously oscillates the boosting clock CKV for a prescribed period in response to the start of imaging operation and thereafter oscillates the boosting clock CKV only in blanking periods of the vertical synchronization signal VD and the horizontal synchronization signal HD. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
