<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system usable from a browser which enables the easy sign to an electronic document and the transmitting/receiving and storage thereof between a client and a server. <P>SOLUTION: This system is constituted of a client terminal having a browser and a client electronic sign program, and a server system having a server electronic sign program and a WEB server. The WEB page of the server system includes a description for starting the client electronic sign program. The client electronic sign program starts, in cooperation with the browser, the client electronic sign program from a content data file displayed on the browser to electrically electronically sign the electronic document displayed on the browser, stores the resulting document in the client terminal, and transmits it to the server system.
