PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for a sealed lead-acid battery, having an excellent tensile strength and a compression breakdown strength. SOLUTION: This separator for the sealed lead-acid battery is composed of mainly organic fiber, glass fiber and nonorganic powder. The tensile strength of the separator is not less than 15 N/10 mm<SP>2</SP>, and its compression breakdown strength is not less than 80 N. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
