PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the burden on a user by automatically initializing each client when groupware is installed, thereby simplifying user operation. SOLUTION: The initialization system for groupware is equipped with a common environment information database 14 which previously stores usable user information of the groupware used by a client terminal capable of accessing one of a plurality of servers, a server management information database 16 which previously stores usable server information set by usable users, an interface 10 which receives a user application request for the groupware made by a user having installed the groupware in its client terminal 6 together with user information, and an initialization processing part 18 which enables the user to use the groupware by operating its client terminal 6 at the use application request according to the user information, usable user information, and usable server information received by the interface 10.
