PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brush device wherein a brush is prevented from rattling in a brush holder. SOLUTION: Each of the brush devices 5 comprises the brush 22 whose tip is abutted against a commutator 9, the brush holder 21 which substantially houses the brush 22 so that the brush 22 can be moved in the direction of the radius of the commutator 9, and a coil spring 23 the one end of which is abutted against the rear end of the brush 22 and which energizes the brush 22 toward the commutator 9. The width W1 of the coil spring 23 at one end in the direction of the rotation of the commutator 9 is made greater than the width W2 of the brushe 22 in the direction of the rotation of the commutator 9. The one end of the coil spring 23 is abutted against the rear end of the brushe 22 in a position offset from the center of the commutator in the axial direction. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
