PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply error correction with higher level of accuracy to data recorded in a recording disk medium. SOLUTION: The data recording method of the optical disk recording and reproducing apparatus includes a step Sa3 of recording a fact of appending error correction data and recording start address information for error correction data to a lead-in area of an optical disk when the optical disk is set to the recording and reproducing apparatus and data to be recorded data are supplied to the recording and reproducing apparatus from a host PC; a step Sa4 of recording the data supplied from the host PC and to be recorded and producing the error correction data to correct errors of the data; and a step Sa5 of recording the error correction data to the optical disk after the end of recording of the data to be recorded.
