PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording method and an information recording apparatus capable of less-reducing a data recording area even when the scale of an append circuit increases and easily determining a final appended data location. SOLUTION: A partition address in management information recorded on an optical disk at appending is read, whether or not partition data are recorded at a read partition address location is determined, when the determination indicates NO, succeeding management information is read, the determination of the partition data is repeated, when the determination indicates YES, data other than partition data are written again to the address from which the partition data are read, and the management information to be appended, appended data and the partition data are succeedingly written.
