PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a customer as well as a shop to apply various managements to a recording medium on which information of movie and music or the like is recorded.

SOLUTION: A recording medium information providing method using a contactless IC tag fitted to a recording medium and provided with an antenna for signal transmission/reception and a circuit for receiving a signal from an interrogator and transmitting a response signal to the interrogator, includes the steps of: receiving an interrogation signal sent from the interrogator; and providing recording medium information of the recording medium on the basis of the response signal from the contactless IC tag.
