PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a glass mat for a storage battery, whereby production of fluff can be minimized without providing a large-scaled installation. SOLUTION: In this method of manufacturing the glass mat for the storage battery, after binder liquid is impregnated in glass fiber felt carried on an endless conveyer belt, the deposit ratio of the binder liquid of the glass fiber felt is adjusted by applying suction dehydration from the lower surface side of the conveyer belt, after that, the glass fiber belt is peeled off from the endless conveyer belt and is successively carried to the next process. The feature of this method is to apply a preliminary dehydrating process to squeeze the glass fiber felt by pressing it onto a roller surface by tension of the conveyer at the stage prior to the suction dehydration after impregnating the binder liquid.
