PURPOSE:To reduce the weight of a composite outboard motor as well as operate the motor with high speeds and without noise by connecting an electromagnetic inductor to a power transmission path from a clutch device to a forward, backward, and neutral switcher. CONSTITUTION:When a composite outboard motor 10 is used as an engine outboard motor, a crankshaft 16 is connected with a rotary shaft 19 by a clutch device 17, and thereby the transmission of the output of engine to a propeller shaft 22 and a propeller 23 through a drive shaft 20 and a forward, backward, and neutral switcher 21 is made possible. When the connection of the crankshaft 16 with the rotary shaft 19 is released and an electromagnetic inductor 18 is driven by a battery 26, the transmission of the power output of the inductor 18 to the propeller shaft 22 and the propeller 23 through the drive shaft 20 and the switcher 21 is made possible, and therefore, noiseless, slow-speed operation of a motor-driven outboard motor is allowed. |
