Additionally disclosed is the use of the fatty acid derivative in the treatment or prevention of a dermatological condition, such as skin ulcer or bed sore, or a disease treatable or preventable by modulating an epidermal barrier function in a mammalian subject. In one embodiment the fatty acid derivative is (-)-7-[(2R,4aR,5R,7aR)-2-(1,1-difluoropentyl)-2-hydroxy-6-oxooctahydrocyclopenta[b]pyran-5-yl]heptanoic acid or its salt, ether, ester or amide. |
