The rodent protection device uses a series of short electronically-controlled light pulses for providing a stroboscope effect, activated via an external on-off switch, the ignition of the automobile in which the device is installed or via sensors (US1,US2). The light pulses may be provided via light-emitting diodes (1-10) provided with wide-angle reflectors.
