A drive mechanism (10) moves the cable (12) pulley part of which is guided along two spaced apart guide-rails (13,14) extending along the window-pane being adjusted. Two connecting sections (12c,12d) of pulley extend from one to the other guide rail and intersect. A guide element (2) is suspended from the connecting sections each of which has a guide duct.
