A metal gasket, wherein a first thick increased part (3) is formed along the peripheral edge of a combustion chamber hole (3), a first seal line (SL1) and a second seal line (SL2) are set on the outer periphery thereof, only a cooling water hole (8) is provided between these both seal lines, and a bead formed along the seal lines (SL1) and (SL2) is formed of a metal bead projected only upward and a rubber bead formed of an elastic seal material fixed to the projected part and the recessed part of the metal bead, whereby the machining accuracy of the metal bead can be increased and a cooling effect on the metal gasket itself and connection surfaces for inserting the metal gasket therebetween can be increased.
