PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspecting apparatus for arbitrarily and reliably selecting a branching direction when passing the wire of a branch section such as the tee of a pipe to be inspected. SOLUTION: The inspecting apparatus 1 comprises the sensor body 11, and the support (flexible pipe) 12 that is connected to the base edge of the sensor body 11 and is made of a tubular member for inserting the sensor body 11 into the pipe to be inspected. The support 12 comprises flexing means (125, 126) that have a spiral projection on the surface and flex the support 12, and expansion and contraction means (125, 126) for expanding and contracting the support 12 in an axial direction.
