PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clutch device capable of improving the safety of transportation work by securely preventing a belt slip and effectively applying an engine brake when a cart is running on a descending slope. SOLUTION: The clutch device 7 is comprised of a tension roller 11 installed at one side of a V-belt 6 and having a tension roller 10 at an end of the V-belt 6 side, an intermediate link member 13 connected to an end of an opposite side to the tension roller 10 of the tension arm 11 supported swingably in the direction approaching or separating the tension roller 10 to or from the V-belt 6 as well as stopped in a state imparting tension to the V-belt 6 with a stopper 12, and a tension spring 14 installed at the intermediate link member 13 and energizing the intermediate link member 13 to the stopper 12 side. During shifting into a clutch, the intermediate link 13 is stopped with the stopper 12 to keep pressing down the V-belt for the tension roller 10 and maintain the state where the V-belt 6 is imparted with the tension.
