PURPOSE:To make the inspection accurate by always taking in the picture signal of pattern from a fixed position, by detecting the top of each pattern as to the printed matter in which the same pattern is repeatedly printed at a fixed intervals on the printing paper of a web state. CONSTITUTION:An image pick up apparatus 1 receives an image pick up start signal from a timing regulation circuit 14, starts to take in the picture information, and the pulse A corresponding to the travel speed of printed matter is outputted from a rotary encoder 2. On the other hand, the signal B corresponding to the picture part and the non picture part of printed matter is outputted from a photoelectric sensor 3. The signal of the photoelectric sensor 3 is made binary with a binary circuit 10 and a picture part '1' and a non picture part '0' are outputted (C). The non picture part between the pattern and another pattern is recognized according to its length with a preset counter 5 and the rear end of the non picture part between the patterns is cached (D). It is inputted to a one-shot multi vibrator 13 and the pulse E of a given length is obtained. The image pick up start signal F corresponding to the top end of a pattern is obtained on the basis of this pulse E and the binary circuit output C. Thereby, the start signal of pattern image pick up can be accurately obtained as to all the patterns. |
