<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochemical biosensor which can measure a substance which is not electrochemically active by a simple and low-cost electrochemical method. <P>SOLUTION: The electrochemical biosensor comprises a first layer containing an enzyme binding antibody for binding an enzyme for generating the electrochemically active substance by a reaction of the antibody of the substance to be measured with a substrate, a second layer fixed with the substance bonded to the enzyme binding antibody in more quantity than at least the substance to be measured, a third layer containing the substrate for generating the electrochemically active substance by a reaction with the enzyme, and electrodes. In this biosensor, a reagent containing the substance to be measured is introduced from the first layer, and the reagent introduced to the first layer is introduced to the third layer through the second layer so that the electrochemical reaction in the third layer can be measured via the electrodes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
