<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a print image from being soiled or damaged due to recycled paper and prevent a recording material from being wrapped round a pressure roller. <P>SOLUTION: After a first fixing operation, idle rotation for heating is carried out. After that, heat generation of a heater is stopped, and idle rotation for cooling is carried out. As a result, soiled toner is transferred from the pressure roller to a heating rotary body.
