Provided is a detergent composition comprising the following components (A), (B) and (C): (A) a phosphate surfactant containing, as a mixture, (a1) a phosphate monoester of the formula (1) and (a2) a phosphate diester of the formula (2): <CHEM> <CHEM> at an (a1)/(a2) weight ratio ranging from 85/15 to 50/50, (B) a polyoxyethylene alkyl ether sulfate or alkyl sulfate represented by the formula (3): R<4>O(CH2CH2O)tSO3M and (C) one or more compounds selected from sulfobetaines represented by the formula (4): <CHEM> and alkylamide propyl betaines represented by the formula (5): <CHEM> <??>The detergent composition has low irritation to the skin, is excellent in foaming power, provides creamy foam, gives the skin or the like a good feeling after washing, is excellent in low temperature stability and permits easy mixing during preparation.
