PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device nearly free from display unevenness and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device having a pair of substrates 10 and 12 disposed opposite to each other, a liquid crystal 22 filled between a pair of the substrates and a sealant 16 for sealing the periphery of a pair of the substrates, a structure 18 for delaying a filling speed of the liquid crystal in the vicinity of the sealant when the liquid crystal is filled between a pair of the substrates is provided in the vicinity of the sealant.
