PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ventilator which does not suck outside air from an exhaust air trunk into an outlet when a damper blocks an exhaust air trunk. SOLUTION: This ventilator 10 is provided with an inlet 13 for sucking air in a room, an exhaust outlet 15 for exhausting sucked air to the outside, a trunk air outlet 14 for returning the sucked air into the room, a fan F for sucking and blowing air from the inlet 13, and a damper D for switching the blowing direction of the air blown from this fan F to the exhaust outlet 15 or the air trunk outlet 14, and this damper D is a ventilator 10 for switching the blowing direction by rotating a shaft J provided at one end as the center, in which a stepped part 18 projecting inward is formed on both sides of an exhaust air trunk between the damper D and the exhaust outlet 15, and when the damper D is located at a position blocking the exhaust air trunk, both side ends of the damper D is brought into contact with the end face of the stepped part 18.
