EARTHQUAKE-MONITORING APPARATUS AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earthquake-monitoring apparatus for determining the damage condition of one's home when a large earthquake occurs, and an earthquake-monitoring method. SOLUTION: The earthquake-monitoring apparatus 11 installed in a building comprises a seismograph 16. The seismograph 16 detects the occurrence of the earthquake to calculate the seismic intensity. The earthquake-monitoring apparatus 11 has a microcomputer 18 for reporting the seismic intensity to a cellular phone 21 when the seismic intensity that is calculated by the seismograph 16 is equal to or more than a specific value.
