PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize a drying state of a paint film layer formed on a metallic support even under a condition that an endothermic quantity of the metallic support is changed in a drying furnace. SOLUTION: This hot air drying type heating dryer 14 is composed of heating units 22 to 28 arranged in the carrying direction of an aluminum web 12, and five straightening boxes 44 are mutually adjacently arranged in the width direction of the aluminum web 12 in the drying furnace 38 of the most downstream heating unit 28. These straightening boxes 44 are respectively connected to a hot air generator via an air supply duct 46. An air volume control valve 48 is respectively arranged in the middle of the five air supply ducts 46, and thereby controls the air volume of hot air supplied to the respective straightening boxes 44. A controller 58 controls opening of the air volume control valve 48 on the basis of a measuring signal SW from a moisture content sensor 54 by making a feedback process, and levels the drying state of a photosensitive layer on the aluminum web 12 in the width direction.
