PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the solid component of a coating solution from being precipitated on the bush of the rotary atomizing head of an electrostatic coating apparatus while performing satisfactory electrostatic coating using a small amount of the coating solution. SOLUTION: The caliber of a liquid feed passage 60 formed along the center axis of the bush 58 arranged to the electrostatic coating apparatus 26, the interval between the leading end of the coating supply nozzle 64 for supplying the coating solution to the coating receiving part 78 of the bush 58 and the coating receiving part 78 and the flow velocity of the coating solution discharged from the coating supply nozzle 64 are set so that the solid component of the coating solution is not precipitated on the surface of the bush 58 by properly coating the surface of the bush 58 with a thin film of the coating solution when electrostatic coating work is performed by revolving an atomizing head body 52. By this constitution, the atomized liquid drops of the coating is bonded to the thin film of the coating solution covering the surface of the bush 58 and, therefore, the precipitation and adhesion of the solid component in the coating can be prevented.
