PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a concentrator which concentrates protozoan cryptospridium and Giardia or the like in a high yield with advantageous characteristics of a hollow fiber membrane of removing fine things and with a large effective filter area thereof, and provide an operation method for luring, and further to provide a simple and efficient method for collecting samples in a collection area. SOLUTION: This concentrator carries out concentration with a module illustrated in fig. 1 through the hollow fiber membrane having the large effective filter area. The hollow fiber membrane with a pore diameter of 0.1-4μm is used and only a hollow fiber membrane cartridge is rapidly taken out, and then simple cutting and simple manual shaking operation or the like are carried out, thus the protozoan cryptospridium are obtained in a high yield of 81%-100% and a large amount of samples are collected and further cost reduction and reduction of the amount of waste are achieved. The method for collecting the samples in the collection area in rivers or the like is conducted with a rechargeable DC portable power source (12v, 24v), a DC or AD magnet pump and a flow meter are located at the flowout side.
