PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a heat generating means from having an excessively high temperature by controlling unnecessary heat generation of the heat generating means. SOLUTION: A heat storage layer 4 is formed on the upper surface of a substrate 6 provided with an ink supply opening 8 in the form of a through hole. Two metal layers becoming metal electrodes 2 and 3, a PTC thermistor layer 1 sandwiched by the metal electrodes 2 and 3, and an electric barrier layer 104 are formed on the heat storage layer 4. The PTC thermistor layer 1 comprises a PTC thermistor having a positive temperature coefficient of resistance where the resistance R increases abruptly as a specified temperature Tc is exceeded. Preferable, the temperature Tc is regulated to a level slightly higher than the bubbling point Tc of a liquid being bubbled, especially to a level of 250-490°C. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
