摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable intake device for a V-type multiple cylinder internal combustion engine, for providing a high volumetric efficiency and a high output torque over a wide rotational range. SOLUTION: This device having right and left banks 4l, 4r having ignition timing exploding alternatively and at equal intervals and equipped with a symmetrical intake manifold 3, is equipped with first chambers 40l, 40r to which a throttle body is connected, a first intake passage 21l by which these chambers 40l, 40r are communicated directly with the intake ports of the respective air cylinders of the right and left banks 4l, 4r, second chambers 31l, 31r normally communicated with the first chambers 40l, 40r through right and left communicating passages and positioned in approximately the center part of a trough between the right and left banks 4l, 4r, and a spiral second intake passage 32l through which these chambers 31l, 31r are communicated with the base end part of the first intake passage 21l. A first operating valve 27l is arranged at the upstream end of the first intake passage 21l, and a second operating valve is arranged in the inside of a second communicating passage through which the right and left first communicating passages are communicated with each other. When reaching a middle speed range, the first operating valve 27l is opened, and when reaching a high speed range, the second operating valve is closed.</p>
