METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TREATING WASTE WATER BY MEMBRANE SEPARATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for treating waste water by membrane separation, in which the amount of the water which is to be treated and is filtered by membrane units can be controlled correspondingly to the contaminated state of each of the membrane units.

SOLUTION: A pressure gauge 30 or an integrating flowmeter 34 is arranged in each of several membrane units 14 arranged in a treating tank 12. The measured value is sent to an analyzing/controlling means 32. The contaminated state of membrane surface of each of the units 14 is analyzed from the measured value of the corresponding unit. The amount of the water to be treated is distributed properly to each of the units 14 according to its capacity at that time without changing the total amount of the water to be treated in this apparatus as a whole. As a result, the units 14 can be operated stably without interruption by preventing the membrane surface of the specified one of the units 14 from being clogged extremely.
