<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer in which positional shift less than 1 dot can be adjusted. <P>SOLUTION: An RAM 30 is storing a positional shift decision pattern 31 for adjusting positional shift. The positional shift decision pattern 31 is read out and recorded on a recording sheet at a recording section 50. A decision is then made whether each line of cyan, magenta and yellow is recorded while being shifted by 0, ±1, ±2, ±3, ±4 line, respectively, from one line of black of a specified interval in the positional shift decision pattern 31 recorded on the recording sheet. Based on the decision results, the trigger signal of a color having a positional shift alters the falling time at PWMt 531-534. In synchronism with rising of the trigger signal, strobe signals are delivered from PWMs 535-538 to LED heads 541-544. As a result, the timing for forming an electrostatic latent image on the photosensitive drums 561-564 of a color having a positional shift is also altered. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
