<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the cleansing work of the sand in a sandbox in a short period of time and in a wide range by periodically sterilizing/cleansing the sand and avoiding the trouble of changing the sand in the cleansing. <P>SOLUTION: As the method of cleansing the sandbox and the sandbox equipment 1, pipes 3 with a number of spouts 9 are embedded in the sand of the sandbox 5, and sterilizing water 7 is periodically spouted from the spouts 9 of the pipes 3 so that periodical sterilization/cleansing of the sand can be performed easily. At that time, a gas 17 is mixed in the sterilizing water 7, and the sand in the sandbox 5 is agitated with the gas 17.
