A noise filter (<HIL><PDAT>100</BOLD><PDAT>) includes a hollow ferrite core (<HIL><PDAT>10</BOLD><PDAT>) for receiving a cable (<HIL><PDAT>200</BOLD><PDAT>) therein and an insulating case (<HIL><PDAT>20</BOLD><PDAT>) covering the ferrite core. The insulating case is made up of a pair of case members (<HIL><PDAT>21, 22</BOLD><PDAT>) each of which defines a number of resilient ribs (<HIL><PDAT>231</BOLD><PDAT>) and a number of support ribs (<HIL><PDAT>232</BOLD><PDAT>) in an inner face (<HIL><PDAT>230</BOLD><PDAT>) thereof. The resilient ribs have sharp-angled tops which provide a radial force for the ferrite core. A pair of latches (<HIL><PDAT>233</BOLD><PDAT>) are formed on a side of each case member for engaging with corresponding recesses (<HIL><PDAT>235</BOLD><PDAT>) defined in the other case member to couple the two case members. A front wall (<HIL><PDAT>251</BOLD><PDAT>) and a rear wall (<HIL><PDAT>252</BOLD><PDAT>) of each case member define a dented top side (<HIL><PDAT>253</BOLD><PDAT>) thereof respectively, wherein a plurality of serrated protrusions (<HIL><PDAT>254</BOLD><PDAT>) are formed on the dented top sides for securing the cable.</PTEXT>
