METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CLEANING VISCOMETER FOR HIGH-VISCOSITY OIL

PURPOSE:To enable efficient cleaning of a viscometer by setting the viscometer in a heating and dissolving vessel to heat and dissolve the sample in the viscometer, then alternately introducing a solvent and an air into the viscometer and bubbling the solvent, thereby cleaning the viscometer. CONSTITUTION:The U-shaped part of the viscometer 11 is first hung in the heating and dissolving vessel 5 and is heated while a holder for measuring viscosity is held mounted to the viscometer at the time of cleaning the viscometer 11 used for measuring the viscosity of a high-viscosity oil. The sample in the viscometer 11 is thereby dissolved. The solvent and the air are then alternately introduced from an introducing pipe 2 into the viscometer 11 and are bubbled in the viscometer, by which the viscometer is cleaned. As a result, the cleaning time is made much shorter than the cleaning time required for the conventional cleaning method and the amt. of the solvent to be used is decreased.
