PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus comprising a print section for printing on a recording medium having an ink receiving layer pasted to a basic material with ink containing sublimation dye, and a heating section for heating the recording medium to fix the sublimation dye in the ink receiving layer to the basic material surface side, in which printed recording media can be fixed continuously at the heating section under heating conditions independent from the discharging speed from the print section. SOLUTION: A print section P has a first carrying mechanism 3 for discharging a recording medium M depending on the print operation, a heating section F has a second carrying mechanism 18 for carrying the recording medium M in a heating region Q at a carrying speed different from the discharging speed, and a loop forming section L can feed the recording medium M discharged from the print section P to the heating region Q after storing it temporarily in the shape of a loop.
