PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter element arranged in an air conditioner, low in air passing resistance and having a deodorizing function. SOLUTION: A filter medium 1 comprising a nonwoven fabric or paper having a predetermined width is made wavy by pleat processing to form a filter body 2 having a predetermined size. Pitch bands 3 having a predetermined width are fixed to the surface of the filter body 2 at both end parts and central part thereof in a folded hill direction. Each of the pitch bands 3 is obtained by applying a hot-melt adhesive 5 to one surface of the nonwoven fabric 4 and an adsorbent, for example, an activated carbon powder is made to get mixed in the nonwoven fabric 4.
