PURPOSE:To obtain an insulated wire having high flame retardancy by making an insulation layer out of two layers, and using flexible ethylene polymer which contains metal hydroxide for the inner layer, and using flexible ethylene polymer which uses halogen flame retardant or chlorinated polyethylene as base polymer for the outer layer. CONSTITUTION:The inner layer contains single or more than one kinds of aluminum hydroxide, etc., by 50-500 weight portion to the 100 weight portion of single or more than one kinds of ethylene propylene copolymer, etc. The outer layer contains 10-100 weight portion of halogen flame retardant such as decapromazinephenyl ethel to flexible ethylene polymer 100 weight portion similarly or chlorinated polyethylene is used for base polymer. The thicknesses of the inner and outer layers are selected to be 90/10-70/30. According to this constitution, an insulated wire maintaining preferable abrasion resistance and electric insulation during combustion and further having high flame retardancy can be obtained. |
